Started programming at 8 years old when his mother bought him a TK-85 (Sinclair ZX81 clon) computer. Back in 2003 Diego discovered the ruby programming language in his search of a smalltalk-like feeling. Although it wasn’t until 2006 that he got really immersed into the Rails community and started freelancing, having taught OOP&D at university feels good to know he was one of those that saw the power in ruby before Rails took the scene. After programming with ruby and other languages, he has been doing more and more tasks related to running the business.

Working in technology long before the internet. Even before local area networks. Joined a startup that went IPO (Sybase), joined another startup that went IPO (Commerce One). Had just about every possible job in software – IT, Engineering, Pro Serv, Product Management, Support, Sales. Graduated to Angel investor and VC. CxO at many different companies along the way. Teacher of lean startup, agile, innovation and trendy stuff.
I know how to program, but for everyone’s safety, I don’t. Prefer to be hiking, climbing, swimming, running, cooking or gardening.

I make things work, office-wise. On one hand I am the administrative assistant, so I’m in charge of accounting i.e. the numbers of the company. On the other hand, I’m the second mom of the whole gang; making sure they’ve got fruit, candy, coffee, juice and all sorts of food. I organize events and do any necessary errands so everyone can stay focused on their work.
It’s a challenging job, you have to love these guys to do it or go crazy in the process. Also while I’m not at the University studying, I like running marathons and traveling with my boyfriend.

Marcelo has been playing with computers and programming languages since he got his first PC in 1986, at the age of 12. He started making a life for his work as a developer/entrepreneur in 1994, and since 2000 he has been building Internet related applications, including site builders, CMSs and online shopping solutions. In 2007 he found Ruby and Rails, rediscovering the passion for programming after two years in the world of JEE, and since 2008 he has been working with RoR as a freelancer.
He enjoys his weekends with his lovely daughter and wife, and whenever he has the opportunity, plays some good tennis which is his other great passion.

Hello!, I’m Bruno Aguirre, a 25 years old developer from Uruguay. I’ve been coding the last ten years, loving HTTP, REST and edge technologies.
I spent 5 years working and learning about SMPP, SMSCs and ESMEs. 2500 million sms delivered later, I returned to the HTTP world seeking challenges and distributed stuff, which i love :D
Currently I’m working at Cubox doing the things I love and working with top notch people. I am also a devote practitioner of the Sacred Sausage, an olden Uruguayan tradition. You can usually see me wearing the Sausage Collar, customary for the believers of the reincarnation of the Cruising Bologna Monster.

Daniel was a second year medical student when he decided that getting into the internals of computers was more fun than dissecting people. Thanks to this decision the uruguayan life expectancy hasn’t plummeted. Another decision he is happy about is leaving his static C# world to get in to the crazy and beautiful world of Ruby. He is a Software Engineer interested in agile methodologies and software design.

Foca has been writing horrible code for the past 10 years, each line worse than the last. He’s played with a variety of web technologies but found that ruby and javascript adapt best to how he thinks. He discovered ruby when rails didn’t exist, and has been working with rails since before it was cool. He doesn’t wear hipster glasses, though, because those are too mainstream now.
Outside of work he’s an avid board gamer, a traveler at heart, sci-fi buff, movie fan, and eternal learner. If he’s not reading a book or watching some movie or series he’s probably thinking of traveling somewhere, or tinkering with his latest project.

PoTe comes from a Python background, dislikes the term “hacking” and finds joy in working with Ruby, contributing to the open source ecosystem or just generally building pretty stuff. He also talks about himself in the third person, oh yes, yes he does.
When he’s not at the office he likes to keep a variety of hobbies in his endless quest to be a “Jack of All Trades” guy, PoTe plays bass and guitar on his band, follows science fiction and fantasy series such as Doctor who and A Song of Ice and Fire and struggles to keep his Kung Fu from getting rusty, mostly failing miserably.

Germán is a night bird. He likes coding during the night and has a hard time getting up before noon. He managed to learn programming by reading C++ and programming theory books while traveling through Europe with his brother. He also used to program small games in BASIC as a kid with his first computer: a TK95! (Sinclaire Spectrum-like) back when the internet didn’t exist just yet and 64 KiloBytes was a huge amount of RAM :)
